Singing with Emma F.

I'm a performing and touring vocalist. I graduated from McGill University in Montreal and have lived in New York City for the last two years. I have released two records of my original music, and have performed at major festivals throughout Canada and perform regularly in the U.S. I will soon release a third album of music featuring Aaron Parks on piano, Jim Black on drums and Rick Rosato on bass. Students can expect to be given relevant exercises and to work on repertoire that excites and challenges them. Week to week, students will see improvement and strength building and feel a growing sense of ease in their voices and bodies while they make music. My goal as a teacher is to help each student access their unique voice, to build strength, grace, and musicality. Lessons will always address foundational technique but can also focus on songwriting, improvisation, music theory, and working towards upcoming performances or auditions. I teach out of my light filled home studio close to Prospect Park in Brooklyn and I also travel to my students. Looking forward to working with you!
