I am a certified Taichi instructor, and I have been teaching Taichi for more than 10 years.
I taught Taichi classes in South Dakota State University Wellness Center since 2013, and I am also a part of the OLLI Senior Taichi program for years.
There is a 93-year old lady who still follows me in my Zoom class regularly and another lady became a taichi instructor.
One of my students, who didn't know how to do the bodyweight transfer before taking my class, followed the DVDs for quite a long time.
I suggest beginners, who really want to build a good foundation, to take classes, either in-person or online if they really want to improve.

About Emily M.

I was a journalist in China before 2009, I got a lot of health problems related to stress such as sleeping trouble, heart problem, back pain, headaches, etc. I was lucky to have an interview with Feng Zhiqiang (Tai chi master in Chen style) in the summer of 2004. I decided to study Tai chi after the interview.
I followed his disciples in my city for the first couple of years then turned to learn Yang style, I thought it fits me better. After a couple of months of practicing, I felt that tai chi reduced my back pain, stress - both physical and mental, improved sleeping, circulation, and a general overall feeling of wellness.
I gained many experiences from teaching taichi at SDSU Wellness Center and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, I also was so happy to see taichi benefits people.
Knowledgeable, patient, and easy to follow were the most comments from my student's evaluation of my class.
I am also a certified Chinese traditional massagist that helps me to explain deeper on the taichi theory level.
