I've been teaching Taichi and Qigong for 10 years and my students have gone on to develop a deep love of Taichi and Qigong. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to practice 8 forms of Taichi and Ba Duan Jin (8 Brocade Qi Gong) and as time goes on you'll be able to complete 24 forms and more. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Emily is a certified Tai chi instructor, and she has been teaching Tai chi for more than 10 years. Initially trained in the Chen style of Tai chi by a disciple of master Feng Zhiqiang for a couple of years, then turned her attention to the Yang style of Tai chi which she continues to teach today.

Emily (Lijuan) Feng is an excellent practitioner and teacher of tai chi. I am an older woman who had been unable to make any progress with a previous tai chi instructor, I was able to begin learning the 8 form from my first lesson with Emily. Even when teaching a large class, she provides individual instruction to help students improve their form and to catch up with the others if they are just beginning. She knows a seemingly unlimited number of exercises and techniques to help her students, and they can learn correct form, as well, just from watching her own masterful modeling of tai chi. Having now learned the 8 and the 24 forms of tai chi from Emily, I have incorporated them into my exercise routines, and find that practicing them regularly improves my balance and flexibility.

I am one of the “group of local people” that Emily has been volunteering with. As a 72-year-old retiree with no athletic/dance background and fading memory, I was concerned that I would not be able to master the 8 Form, much less the 24 Form. However, I joined the local group in the summer of 2020 in person and continued on Zoom through the worst of the pandemic. And now I can do BOTH the 8 and the 24 Forms!!! Emily is a knowledgeable, patient, and practical teacher, who watches each of us closely and identifies precisely the movement that needs work, which she then conveys clearly and graphically. She knows to present not too much at any one time so that it’s not overwhelming. She also explains the underlying or historical basis of movements, which makes them more understandable and more memorable. We have been so fortunate to have someone with Emily’s extensive expertise to guide us in this learning process. Thank you, Emily!!!

Emily has opened up a new fulfilling experience for me through her tai chi lessons. She is a master at this art. I look forward to each class and appreciate her expert techniques. She has concise instructions and great analogies to make sure we understand the movements. She also makes it fun for everyone and is very encouraging. I am so happy to have her as my instructor. Aw heck, I'll give her 10 big stars!

Having the opportunity for both online and in-person group instruction with Emily as the teacher, I can say that she is very good at explaining and showing little details that a student might not pick up on their own. Emily is very knowledgeable about human body systems and how they are effected by tai chi, as well as being cognizant of physical limitations of specific individuals and how those can be improved with tai chi or with doable modifications. She is extremely observant, positive and encouraging as class members work to improve their form.

I learned 8 forms from Emily in two weeks last year. It was not too difficult. She explained every movement clearly and pointed out where I did wrong. She is a good Tai Chi instructor with many years of teaching experience, and I learned a lot from her. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend her class.

I have taken many Tai Chi classes from Emily and highly recommend her classes. She demonstrates a high level of understanding of Tai Chi practice and class participants are easily able to follow along in practice each week. Emily is dedicated to her practice and society will benefit greatly from her continued education and instruction in the art of Qigong Tai Chi. I highly recommend trying her Tai Chi class.

I practiced Taichi with Emily during my school years from 2013 to 2015 in SDSU.

Her class was very attractive and interesting, she was super nice, helpful and patient with students. My immunity and balance improved a lot after training. I also find Taichi works for relieving stress and anxiety from studying, especially when before exams.

I am grateful to meet her and took her class, I encourage everyone who read this to give it a try.

I have been following Emily to learn Tai chi since 2016,after two months of twice-weekly tai chi classes,I experienced significant improvements in quality of sleep and I really enjoy all the background music in her courses.
I am a data analyst who deals with work stress sometimes. I found One of the main benefits of tai chi is its ability to reduce stress and anxiety but, it may be a good option if you are otherwise healthy and experiencing stress-related anxiety.
Emily is a very patient instructor with many years teaching experience, all her classes help improve my mood if I am depressed or anxious,I highly recommend her class for you.
