Flute with Emily H.

I have been playing flute for over 30 years, and have a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from the Hartt School. My performance career has included orchestral, chamber music, and solo performance, but teaching is my primary focus and source of inspiration. I really enjoy getting to know each individual student and working as their coach and learning partner. To me, this means prioritizing the student's interests and helping them achieve their own goals. My role as a music teacher is to understand the your musical journey and help map it out with fun and challenging musical adventures along the way. I like to keep lessons light in mood, casual and conversational, but also focused and engaging. My own background is primarily in classical music, but I love exploring other styles of music with my students as well. I enjoy working with students all the way from beginners through advanced/pre-professional musicians. I welcome students ages 5 through adult.
