About Elizabeth P.
I am an experienced voice teacher, coach, opera and musical theater singer, and have been singing and teaching professionally for 15 years. I hold a Master of Music in voice performance and pedagogy from Belmont University in Nashville. I have taught in academic and private studio settings, including online instruction. I believe that great singing begins with great technique grounded in healthy vocal function and placement.
I am proficient in Italian, German, Latin, and French diction, if you would like to explore singing in multiple languages. As a teacher, I have had the opportunity to coach with an esteemed group of vocal pedagogues including Ingo Titze, Jeanette LoVetri, and Thomas Blaylock. As a singer, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with singing professionals across multiple genres, including a solo performance with the Nashville Symphony and backup vocals for the rock band Foreigner. My graduate thesis was specifically focused on vocal health in singers and vocal rehabilitation following vocal fold damage and disorders. Since I know what can happen when singers do not take care of their instrument, I have a passion for teaching healthy singing habits and educating singers on how to keep their voice as healthy as possible to support a long career!
My students learn proper breath support, vocal placement, and resonance that can be applied to any genre, or style, of music you wish to sing. I want all my students to walk away feeling proud of themselves and their unique vocal capabilities and carry that confidence with them wherever they sing.
Whether you are a beginner looking to explore and develop your instrument, an advanced student looking to gain further knowledge and start a career in music, or an adult student returning to the voice studio to reconnect with your instrument, I am eager to begin the journey with you! The voice is the only musical instrument housed within our own body and is unique to each individual which is such an exciting thing when you realize all the possibilities. Discover your voice today!
