I love teaching music! I taught in Georgia public schools for 28 years. At the elementary level, I served as a music education specialist, teaching general music to all students in grades K-5 and directing an afterschool choral group. In 1992 I received a grant from the Metropolitan Opera Guild which included two summers of training at both the University of Alabama and the Metropolitan Opera Guild headquarters in New York. With the help of this program, my 4th and 5th graders wrote, produced, directed, and performed two totally original musical plays under my tutelage. At the middle and high school levels, I taught choral music and music theory, directed competitive choirs, directed competitive plays and musicals, founded a drama troupe, and involved students in fine arts activities at local, regional, state, and even national levels. I love what I do!

Singing · In studio

Elaine is a phenomenal teacher of music! There is nothing she is not qualified to teach! All foundational elements to performance like piano, singing, ear training, and sight reading she explains with ease. I thought I was too old to learn to read music but she made the process so simple and fun. I also thought I could never sing harmony but she showed me that it was something I was very capable of doing! It doesn't hurt that she is a BRILLIANT pianist herself and can accompany her clients perfectly to any song they bring in work on. I cannot recommend her enough! She is a joy to work with!
