Edna worked with me on breathing, more specifically taking catch breaths while playing. She suggested an exercise to breathe normally and exhale and hold for a couple of seconds and take in a quick breath.

I'm checking out new flutes and Edna was very kind to listen to the four flutes I am testing out. She's not only a great flute teacher but also a great resource person.

Great lesson. Worked on facial and mouth exercises including yawning to relax muscles in the mouth and throat. Worked on lower register by focusing on keeping lips slightly moving downward like a slightly inverted smile.
