    I have worked extensively as a private, classroom, and online music teacher with students of diverse ages and skill levels, including children with special needs. My teaching philosophy and methodology are flexible, covering various styles/genres, and meet the individual needs and objectives of each student. Whether it's learning how to play piano, music theory, improvisation, composition, or anything else, I am here eager to help!

    Over a decade of training and experience, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. Originally classically-trained, however I am also versed in other styles such as jazz, bossa nova, soul, and many others. In addition to sharing my learnings with passion, I am also an active musician, recording artist, composer/producer.

    Edmar is not only an amazingly talented pianist but a natural teacher. He was perfect for our child, mixing patience, creativity, warmth and flexibility with clear expectations and wonderfully explained information - plus inspiring demonstrations that ranged from funny to dramatic to gorgeous. He was able to teach my child not only proper technique, theory, phrasing, etc., but also how to express mood and emotion, and even how to improvise at a young age. I highly recommend Edmar as a teacher to both beginners and advanced players, from child to adult. His love of music and musical ability are truly exceptional!

    Edmar taught my three daughters when they were very little and had infinite patience. He put on wonderful recitals for them and we have memories we will never forget. My girls are now teenagers and pursue Violin and vocals, and are planning on applying for scholarships for college. The piano foundation taught by Edmar will help my girls in all of their future musical endeavors.
