Overview

Mr. Lopez is Master of Music in Clarinet performance degree at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA under the tutelage of Yehuda Gilad.
Mr Lopez, currently is teaching at Colburn school in the Jumpstart program. Also, he has a strong private studio with students all around Los Angeles. His students are in recognized youth orchestas in LA as OCSYO, PSYO and CDBA, where the got in with audition.
He has been the principal clarinet of FOSBO since 2010. He is often invited to play with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra, with Gustavo Dudamel as conductor, Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.
In 2014, L. was awarded with the Bruce Zalkind Memorial Endowed Music Award by The University of Southern California,Youth Talent Award by Salvi Foundation in the VII IMF-Cartagena 2013. Winner of the first prize in the Latinoamerian Clarinet Competition Clariperu 2011, first place winner in “XIII CNI ” 2011, first place winner in the National Clarinet Competition. Mr. L. was awarded with the Medal of Merit “ Antonio Nariño” for excellence by the Senate of Colombia in 2009.
