As a professional singer and actor, I perform all over the United States. I act and sing on many stages, including: opera houses, theme parks, theaters, convention centers, and film. From opera to pop music, I have pretty much performed it all. My collegiate training is from Samford University, where I received a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre. For two years after college, I lived in NYC and trained with Broadway's best. I just recently relocated to the Nashville area, and cannot wait to train my students with the most up-to-date and current audition techniques, as well as new singing and acting material. As an active performer in the Nashville area, I have strong knowledge of what is required in auditions today. I have an ardent passion to share with my students what my teachers and life experiences have shared with me.

*** Lesson Details ***
The lessons I teach are centered around a laid back, positive, and encouraging atmosphere. I believe that anyone can achieve his or her goals with confidence and belief in themselves. Because of my diverse background and performing experience, my specialties are the musical genres of Broadway, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and Country, all rooted in the Bel Canto style of singing. My acting emphasis is on techniques from Uta Hagen and Konstantin Stanislavski.

My lessons are meant to be fun, yet simultaneously instructive. I want my students to be able to leave their cares at the door, and jump into a creative and inspiring atmosphere. Lessons are unique to each individual, and based on his or her goals.

*** Studio Equipment ***
keyboard, music stands

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will bring a laptop with CD player for quickly finding pdf music and recording lessons. I would like my students to provide the sheet music/monologues (etc) they would like to learn if they have a specific song/piece they want to work on, a way to record their lesson, a bottle of water, and a willingness to have some fun.

*** Specialties ***
For acting lessons, I specialize in techniques of Konstantin Stanislavski and Uta Hagen. For singing lessons, I specialize in the genres of Rock, Pop, Country, Belting, and Legit styles. Your lesson will be tailored specifically to the genres you would like to learn. Your goals are my goals!

She knows how to help you sell yourself in an audition!!

I have been a percussionist for 13 years now. I began taking lessons for voice with Erica and within 2 months of lessons I booked a gig where I was singing and drumming. She is closely tied to the music industry and provides relevant lessons that are based on MY goals, and not a "cookie cutter" lesson. She knows what directors and casting agents are looking for in an audition and is a FANTASTIC teacher. My skills improved rapidly with just a few lessons! I highly recommend taking lessons with Erica!
