I can't say enough good things about Earl's instruction. He's extremely knowledgeable and talented and yet responsive, inspiring, and kind. Rather than applying a narrow and rigid approach to teaching, lessons are built around my abilities and interests and he has taught me new ways of looking at music and playing guitar. I feel very fortunate to be one of his students.

His influences are: Jimi Hendrix, Stanley Clarke, Carlos Santana, Marcus Miller, George Benson, Victor Wooten, Wes Montgomery and many other great musicians. Why does he teach? After working many years in Corporate America, Earl is now a full-time musician who has traveled the world, produced national and local artists, owns an independent record label and works with new clients on a regular basis. His goal is to share as much knowledge as possible with aspiring musicians. He is presently offering lessons in acoustic, electric and bass guitar. How is his teaching method unique? Since every client has a unique talent, each individual's training is based on his/her personal goals. The student will learn how to think outside of the box in order to accomplish their goals. Most of his coaching sessions and music lessons have taken place at his Greenbelt Maryland studio however he is now offering online sessions. These sessions range from learning how to become a skillful musician in multiple genres to information on how to become a full-time musician as well as mastering techniques in lead guitar, rhythm guitar, finger-style performance, chord inversions, improvisation, jamming skills, site reading, ear training, music theory, scales & exercises, song writing, recording & production, guidance in equipment selection and more... Beginners will need to have their own instrument and accessories (required for practice). Earl works with each individual based on his/her personal goals and believes that every client has a unique gift. Does he have a standard pricing system? Yes. He is presently offering a rate of $60 for one hour sessions, $50 for 45 minute sessions and $40 per 30 minute sessions. What types of clients has he worked with? Earl has worked with beginner, intermediate and advanced musicians in multiple genres but specializes in teaching beginners. What styles of music are covered? Current genres offered are Jazz, Christian, R&B, Reggae, Blues, Alternative, Classic Rock and Pop. Clients can focus on one or two styles while developing the basic skills needed to play others as well. What age groups does he work with? Ages eight years old to adult. What advice would Earl give a client looking to hire a coach or teacher in his area of expertise? Becoming a fluent musician requires practice. Becoming a successful full-time musician takes dedication. Remember, the more you practice, the better you’ll get. Therefore, how quickly you excel is ultimately up to you. What questions should clients think through before talking to teachers about their needs? Know what you want to accomplish from taking lessons and make sure that you are both on the same page before selecting a new teacher. How soon can I start? There are currently several slots open. If you’re ready to get started, feel free to schedule an appointment. Thanks for visiting!
