Hi! My name is Dylan and I'm excited to be teaching in the Phoenix area. I moved here with my wife from Tucson to pursue a Master's degree, with the goal of eventually earning a DMA in Music Performance and earning a position as a Professor.

I have been teaching for about 7 years, students ranging from elementary to college level. I enjoy teaching because it's a fulfilling job. If my student has left without learning, improving, or feeling challenged, then I haven't done my job well enough.

As my student, I will do my best to ensure that we cover every aspect of trombone playing - technique, fundamentals, musicality, and everything in between. I will cater lessons to your learning style and your desired goals. Lessons are a very important investment, and I make sure that I leave my students feeling accomplished, challenged, and excited about playing.

***Studio Equipment***

I began my Recording Engineer "career" about a year ago, as a project and a service to my peers. I have recorded many of Tucson's best musicians and ensembles, specializing in live, on-location recording.

As my student, you'll have access to professional recording equipment for free! Record tapes for competitions, college auditions, or make a portfolio of the work you've done over the year.

I also have a Yamaha Clavinova keyboard and a roland electronic drum set.

12-hour notice must be given for cancellations and the lesson will be rescheduled. I'm not very strict as far as cancellations go, because I understand that things come up and life happens. I have no problem rescheduling when students are respectful about the scheduled time and giving advanced notice.

About Dylan C.

Trombonist Dylan played his first notes in the state of Texas, and music has allowed him to perform in other cities, states, and even on an international tour of China. A student at the University of Arizona, Carpenter has performed with the University’s Arizona Symphony in multiple sold-out operas, shared the stage at Crowder and Centennial hall with artists such as Bill Watrous, Andy Narell, Michael Davis, and Ben Vereen, and leads his section as Principal in the Wind Ensemble. As a soloist, he made his debut when he was 18, at Sahuarita High School with the Concert Band. Through his studies, Carpenter has become a versatile musician and a master of many styles, leading to earning his job with the USAF Band of Mid-America.
Dylan’s passion from music stems from the drive he has for enjoying life and all it has to offer.
Dylan earned his Bachelor of Music Performance degree at The University of Arizona, where he studied under Moisés Paiewonsky.

Videos of his playing can be found below.

it was an excellent start-

I was in band with Dylan in high school. He was always the best player, and whenever our director was gone, she had him run rehearsal while the sub just sat and watched. Everyone in the band liked him and looked up to him.

Dylan taught my son at Great Expectations Academy about four years ago, when he was in middle school. I couldn't be more proud of my son's improvement, and David always was always very happy coming home from school when Dylan came in to teach lessons.
