Bass Guitar with Dwight M.

I began playing guitar at age 5 1/2. I learned to read music at same time as learning to read written words. I studied cello briefly through the 7th grade. I took up upright bass to play in the high school jazz band. I majored in double bass in college, earning Bachelors degrees in Music Education and Music Performance, including two years as the recipient of the Alyse Smith Reynolds Performance Music Scholarship. I spent six years on the road with The Graphic and 3 years with jazz rock trio Toys Don't Hate. I have had the honor of performing with jazz artists Clark Terry, Zoot Sims, Eddie Daniels, Marian McPartland and Dave Brubeck and others. Several of my students have gone onto touring bands and some are 1st call players in New York and LA.
