Hi there! My name is Drew and I’m a Chicago-based pianist and online piano teacher! I have been teaching student pianists the joy of playing piano for over 12 years and have developed a piano-teaching system that is fun, interesting, and highly rewarding for students at every level! Our lessons combine a tailor-made individual piano plan for each student (including reading music, sightreading, playing chords etc.) along with the music the student actually wishes to learn regardless of their level to ensure that student pianists will be consistently engaged and unbelievably excited for their next lesson! I studied jazz piano at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music on full scholarship as a Herman B. Wells Scholar where I received my bachelors in jazz piano, along with specialized piano pedagogy training. As a performer I have toured the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean, performed at Chicago venues like The Peninsula and Renaissance Hotels, The Metro and The Empty Bottle, and I have recorded on international record releases and for clients such as America’s Next Top Model and MTV’s The Real World.
