Classical Voice with Dorothy S.

Hi! I am a friendly and energetic teacher (and mom) who has extensive singing experience with opera companies all over the city. In 2017 I graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University with my Master of Education in music education. I also completed my NY state teaching certification. Instead of returning to the classroom, I had a kiddo and decided to build a private studio consisting of voice and piano students. I’m able to engage students in many ways. My teaching philosophy encourages students to build new skills onto their prior knowledge while keeping music culturally relevant while valuing each student’s unique culture and learning style. I pride myself on having a growth mindset—I never stop learning so my students continue to enjoy lessons and their learning journeys.
