I have studied with Curtis Olson, Vern and Jan Kagarice, Thomas Ashworth, Nick Keelan and Dudley Bright. I hold a DMA from Michigan State University and a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, as well as a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. I am is an active member of the International Trombone Association. I teach trombone at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in the summers. One of the silver linings to COVID is that I have more time to teach!

Dr. B. has made a profoundly good impact on my abilities as both a musician and a person. Through working with him for 6 years, I have improved vastly on my technique, my musicianship, and my human element.
On top of being a top-notch teacher, he is also a fantastic example of how to be a human being. He is kind, patient, and sharp as a tack. You cannot go wrong with studying with Dr. B!

I took lessons from Dr. B. during high school and all the way through my undergrad at Eastern Michigan University. He is a fantastic instructor and a great person who can lead you on whatever path you want to go down with the knowledge needed to succeed. I always looked forward to each one of my lessons and the various competitions that Dr. B. helped me prepare for. He was one of the main reasons I kept studying music after my high school years and graduated from Eastern with my Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance.

Dr. B. is without a doubt the best lessons teacher I have ever had! I have taken lessons from him since early highschool all the way till the end of college, and he can do it all. He has a broad range of knowledge that is suitable for players in all ranges of playing ability. Be it studying whatever material you bring to work on, or if you decide to use Dr. B.’s huge library of technique and skills books you will not be disappointed. He is also a great resource for finding new music that is suitable for you. .If you have the opportunity to study with Dr. B. I would highly recommend it!
