To all who read this, hi. I'm Don. I've been teaching since age 15 when I started playing regularly for a church choir in North Carolina. During that time I also had the opportunity to study with award winning theatre, music, and visual arts teachers. I interned at Shenandoah university under Ricky Furr (who directed and coordinated the music production and recording technologies program) from 2011-2013. In 2014 I moved to Philly and studied under 2 time Grammy award winner Carvin Haggins and studied piano under Eric Wortham (current pianist for grammy award winner Adele). I currently teach intro music part-time at chester community charter school in chester. I'm working on a few major projects, including scoring a couple TV shows. I just want to share my gift with the world. Drive will beat talent any day of the week. I'm looking for students with drive. Talent will find you. Bring your drive, I'll do the rest.
I teach beginning music and music theory to students age 5-15 in a classroom setting. I have an average of 20-25 students per class.
Broadcast Music Inc. was founded in 1939 by forward-thinkers who wanted to represent songwriters in emerging genres, like jazz, blues and country, and protect the public performances of their music. Operating on a non-profit-making basis, BMI is now the largest music rights organization in the U.S. and is still nurturing new talent and new music.
