I have been involved in music my entire life, and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I began taking vocal lessons from the age of 9 and have studied a variety of genres such as Musical Theatre, Jazz, Classical, Rock and Roll, and Folk. I studied Voice Performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I have been playing the violin for 24 years, and was classically trained from the start. I was involved in the Award-winning Sacramento Youth Symphony for several years before heading to Berklee. I was a member of Berklee's Contemporary Orchestra, and was involved in string quartets, Celtic ensembles, and led my own band. During college I branched out to fiddle styles such as Jazz, Celtic, and Folk, and became known for my improvisational ability. Since moving to the West Coast, I have performed at venues including House of Blues Sunset, The Viper Room, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Pasadena Playhouse, and more. I am an accomplished songwriter, utilizing voice, violin, and ukulele in my arrangements. My vocal instruction style varies based on the genre my students wish to pursue, and I have had excellent results. One student went on to tour in the international company of Bring It On - The Musical. As a violin teacher, I instruct in the traditional style, and highly believe in a solid basis in reading music. As a fiddle teacher, I teach both from the page and by rote, and focus heavily on rhythm. I am happy to provide references from current students, if needed.
