Music Education
Learn to read, understand & play bass guitar from an expert music teacher with 35+ years experience.
I teach the bass guitar using finger positioning up and down the fingerboard, learning not only how to play the notes but the best position to play each passage or phrase. You will learn how to read music, understand and play all major and minor scales, major & minor augmented and diminished chords, music theory and applying all of it to the instrument.
You will learn about transposing a song into different keys and how to do it. I will teach you about modes, how to use them and when to use them in a song. I will teach you how to create solid bass lines and understand what notes to play in each chord progression.
Throughout all the learning, the most important thing I strive for, is that the student has fun learning to play and perform songs they have always wanted to play but could play well or didn't know how to before. I will give you the knowledge and tools to reach the goals you want to.

I've been a working professional bassist, on both upright bass and bass guitar. Since 1970 working in numerous wedding, pop, jazz, big bands and orchestras in several states and have been hired to record for several musicians in the studio during my career. I have performed with international stars such as Ray Charles, Andrea Bocelli, Jimmy Heath, Byron Stripling, Anne Murray and others,at major casinos such as The Taj Mahal in Atlantic City New Jersey, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos in Connecticut to name a few. I currently can be seen performing with The GS Jazz Trio throughout the DFW area, performing several nights during the week and weekends at local restaurants, wine bars and private parties and events.
My greatest pleasure, next to performing, is watching the excitement, fun and joy my students experience playing their instrument with confidence and a sense of accomplishment and seeing the smiles beam on their faces after they finish playing a piece of music they always wanted to before but could achieve it. That is such a wonderful and beautiful thing to be a part of. I always look forward to meeting new students and leading them on their own personal journey and memories. I believe that with the right teacher (my part) patience and determination (your part) together we can make something happen for YOU too !!!
