Piano with David P.

Hello, My name is David. I grew up in Buffalo NY and began playing Piano at a young age. My Mother was a music teacher for over 40 years. I started playing saxophone in 4th grade. Throughout my education I took private lessons on both piano and saxophone. I participated in numerous honors bands, all county, all district and all state events. I graduated in 1995. I went to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and received a BA in music performance. We toured Europe and the United States and recorded three albums during my time as a performer with the UNCW Big Band. I graduated in 1999. I then spent the next 4 years touring the eastern states playing events and concerts with a few different jazz and blues bands. I had a lot of fun and met many wonderful people and musicians. After 4 years of traveling up and down the east coast, I decided I wanted to settle down a little, so I decided to go back and get my music education degree from UNCW. I can teach any wind instrument, piano or percussion. I started teaching in 2005 in Duplin County and have been teaching middle school and high school band ever since. We perform at many band events throughout the state. My students regularly make all county, district, and statewide ensembles. I also have been teaching chorus for the last five years, which has really rounded out my teaching experience. I would like to share my knowledge with you, and can't wait to see how you grow as a musician!
