A graduate of the Juilliard School, I have performed with some of the worlds most accomplished and well-known musicians, including Wayne Shorter, Dave Liebman, Arturo O’Farrill, Ellis Marsalis, Randy Weston, among many others. Along with performances at the Blue Note, Dizzy's Club Coca Cola, Small's Jazz Club, and others, I have been very lucky to have traveled, performed, and taught all over the globe in venues such as the Tokyo Jazz Festival, the Fandango Fronterizo Festival in Tijuana, Mexico, Abu Dhabi, the Torino Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, and the Panama Jazz Festival. During my time at the New England Conservatory, I had the opportunity to study with John McNeil, and the late-great Laurie Frink. Being students themselves to the famous Carmine Caruso, I learned a lot about developing a routine that covers all aspects of playing, technical and musical. My teaching style stems a lot from Laurie's teaching style and methods, and I am excited each time I get to share the knowledge she passed to me onto other students. I share my experiences and techniques learned from her and John McNeil as well as my own variations on their methods. While constantly working towards the students goals, I incorporate the necessary framework to being a strong and versatile trumpet player and musician. In February 2014, I independently released “Progress Report”, my first full-length album as a leader and composer. Along with a full teaching studio, and a recent member of the orchestra for the hit Broadway musical, “Tootsie”; I can be seen performing all over, in and around the New York City area. Teaching Philosophy -Find several avenues of interest for different levels of students. -Improve technique and musicality through engaging and informative methods. -Develop discipline and a sense of creativity within student, and present expressive and communal performing opportunities. -Create sense of community among peers and educators to continuously develop musical personalities. -With students overall goals in mind, present trumpet history, music theory, improvisation, general musicianship, and pedagogy.

Dave is a very patient teacher. You can tell he is passionate about music and the trumpet from the way he interacts during a lesson. I look forward to every week when I take my lessons, and it has been such a fun hobby during these crazy times because of Covid-19.
