Clarinet with David K.

David is a clarinetist currently based in Tallahassee, Florida. He has performed in a variety of ensembles, competitions, and festivals including Belgian Clarinet Academy and New Music Festival. As a soloist, David has performed internationally and domestically in Belgium, Mexico, Tallahassee, Tennessee, and Columbus. He was the semi-finalist of the Young Artist Competition of the International Clarinet Association and semi-finalist of Concerto Competition at Florida State University. David is also active in chamber music. David is the founding member of the Shade Wind Quintet and the LatAsian Trio. The Shade Wind Quintet is made up of Columbus State University students and alumni continue to promote diversity in music through educational outreach, performances, and commissioning projects. The Shades Wind Quintet is currently working on a commissioning and recording project, anticipated in 2020. Most recently, the quintet was invited to perform as featured guests at the 2019 Schwob Summer Music Festival and announced the winner of the Art of Chamber Music Competition. David is a recent graduate at Florida State University where he received his Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance and undergraduate at Columbus State University where he studies with Deborah Bish, Jonathan Holden, and Lisa Oberlander.
