David is a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, and mix engineer who works with artists at varying levels developing their skills, creativity, and music. Over the course of nearly 2 decades playing in bands and working in music production, David knows the skillset and mindset necessary to perform at a professional level.
In 2015, David was nominated for a Pensado Award for "Most Unique Project Studio" and followed that up in 2016 sharing the stage with Jimmy Eat World and Neon Trees.
David's passion for creativity, performing, and connecting with people are what drives him.
I work with kids as young as 6 years old teaching them the fundamentals of music, giving them structure and an opportunity for personal growth.
I worked with and learned from elite musicians and engineers while participating in the recording, mixing, and mastering process.
David has exceeded my expectations. He is a fantastic teacher and person. I look forward to continue to acquire the skills necessary to play the guitar with his help and guidance. I am so lucky that he is there for me.
David is terrific. Much better than any of my other teachers. He is professional, knowledgeable and practical. I always leave feeling I have learned something I can take home with me and improve.
David has a depth of musical knowledge and knows how to communicate it well. With students as young as 6, he has shown patience while challenging them to improve. He is a fun and effective teacher.
David puts me at ease with taking lessons from a human because, not only is he very skilled and knowledgeable, but he is also flexible in his teaching style, in that he is responsive to my learning style and thoroughly addresses all my questions and concerns, all while being attentive to my progress. I highly recommend!+ Read More
If you are tired of guitar teachers who half-try through a song a week leaving you constantly learning new material but somehow never making any progress...stop. You are not doing yourself any favors. What you need is a teacher like David who actually gives a care about your playing and has the ability to break down your technique and give you an analysis of what you need to become a better player. With the benefit of David's coaching, I have made changes to my form and finger placement for the better. These are the hard changes in ingrained habits I needed to make to take my playing to the next level.
I would also encourage you to take advantage of David's expertise as an engineer if you are his student. He has recorded many bands and is very generous with his home studio for his students. The ability to record without the pressure of "being in the studio" is huge. Even if you do not currently have plans to record, the experience of playing in front of a microphone is very educational and listening to the subsequent recording is a great learning tool.
Taking lessons are pointless if both sides are not engaged. David is a rare guitar teacher who is committed to the growth of every student. If you are similarly committed to your own growth, I can't think of a better teacher for you to study the guitar with.
David is unlike any guitar teacher I have worked with. He pays close attention to details like finger placement or guitar hold and listens carefully to correct any bad habits, posture or form. Sometimes you are used to playing a certain way and don't notice some bad form or habits and he's able to diagnose sound issues. David is also great at being encouraging and suggesting ways of playing that makes sense for each song. He customizes the lesson so that you feel good about playing. He makes playing really fun and what seemed hard before, he helps to make it easy. He brings helps you feel like a rockstar after a few lessons. I highly recommend David!+ Read More
