I'm a graduate from Shenandoah Conservatory with a BFA in Acting and minor in Vocal Performance and I am here to ask one simple question; How can I help you? From there, I will work hand-in-hand with the student to achieve the goals that they seek. I have background in a wide variety of acting techniques and skills ranging from beginning acting to Shakespeare language, contemporary scene work and musical theatre to audition prep. I let the student pick their own material or I can help the student find material appropriate for them. Just tell me what you need and what you hope to accomplish and I will make it happen for you.

I have known Dave for many years, and have worked within him onstage and off. In addition to being a respectful, down-to-earth person, Dave has a treasure trove of invaluable expertise when it comes to acting and stage performance. As a director, Dave challenged us and brought us to new levels to create our absolute best performance. I am currently a K-12 Certified Theatre Teacher, and I would absolutely recommend Dave to anyone who is looking for an acting coach, teacher, or director.

I was so impressed by the plays that Dave has produced, directed and acted in (not knowing that one of them, he also wrote) that I attended one of his workshops, for the sheer adventure and education of watching him work. I pursue no career in acting, though I am from a show business family; so I know what's good and what goes. Watching Dave work with actors is refreshing because he is able to do so without seeming condescending but also without appearing a novice, something that can happen when working with someone on the younger side of the business. Dave's ability as a director, teacher or coach does not belie his true age. He has an innate ability to zone in on what any particular actor needs to bring their performance to life and he applies that ability in a friendly manner befitting a safe environment in which one can stretch their wings. He imbues his colleagues with a sense of trust which every artist needs before laying bare their vulnerable artistic senses. I could not recommend him more, as a teacher of any kind or as a man worth knowing.

Whether it's getting his guidance at his Theatre Co's open workshops, watching him act on stage, seeing shows he has directed or getting one on one coaching, Dave's sensitivity and love for the art stands out and makes working with him a real joy. His ability to see, to feel and to guide an actor to the deeper parts of their own work are what makes him superior at all levels; if your a beginner or a seasoned veteran needing to work on improving your acting "back hand" Dave is the man to go to.

    Experience

    Artistic Director

    Mar, 2008 - Present

    MidCity Productions

I am the founder and Artistic Director of MidCity Productions, a Manhattan based theatre company dedicated to bringing high quality, affordable contemporary theatre to the population of New York City. Through this company, we host a bi-weekly open acting workshop where anyone can attend and bring what they've been working on, what they've been meaning to work on, or just themselves, and help their fellow colleagues work on their discoveries. Through these workshops, I've been able to quickly assess an actor's needs and abilities and relay critiques and advice to them in a hands-on manner to help them achieve what it is that they want to achieve. I also have experience in audition preparation and technique as well as assigning material suitable for the actor, their look, and their abilities.
