I was born and raised in Miami, and resided in Dade County for 24 years and in Broward County for over 37 years. I started working when I was 11, delivering newspapers through Junior and High School. Then I went to junior college for 7 years and got 2 Associate Degrees, accumulating 250 semester credit hours, (more than required for a doctor's degree), with a 3.0 average. I took some music and singing classes in college. I primarily worked for myself in my own business most of my life, about 40 years, as a music teacher, singer & guitarist, DJ/MC - entertainer. My father had an old acoustic guitar that I started playing on when I was 15. I got a new electric guitar and small amp for Christmas. I took private lessons from 2 teachers for about 6 months, which I paid for myself from saving money by working, then all of my equipment, vehicles, and 7 years of college. I learned a lot on my own from friends and playing by ear. So teaching others was easy for me, and my students thought I was good at it. I taught private guitar lessons for 4 music studios, 1 music class in a private elementary school, and about 10 adult education classes at 3 Broward County high schools. I teach the basic fundamentals of playing the guitar, like proper fingering techniques, picking and strumming patterns, plus music theory. The student will learn all of the notes, scales, many chords, reading music, and play lead melody, harmony, and background rhythm accompaniment in songs of varied styles.
