What if I told you that learning one specific genre of music can get you to play anything you want? I've played piano for 8 years and my curriculum will be based on making connections to different styles of music along with identifying different patterns in sight reading. I will go over basic music theory topics such as chords, keys, arpeggios, and scales. Not only will I be teaching those subjects but I will also be providing some examples and pieces where those concepts are implemented. I will also be encouraging recording in my teaching so that my students can gain confidence in their teachings and learn to practice and perform in front of a potential audience. Generally, I will be encouraging experimentation and improvisation so that my students don't feel that piano is something that is very uptight, but instead very free and expressive. Have me as a teacher and I will show my students why I love the piano so much.

My name is Daniel and I have been playing piano for 8 years. I have played in many different recitals, gigs, and have made some cover videos in which you can view in this profile.In 2014, I graduated from the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts in which I had studied Jazz and Classical piano. In the fall of 2017, I completed all the piano courses that the San Diego Community College District could offer. I'm a very patient and observant teacher. In my lessons, I will be going over keys, chords, scales, and arpeggios, along with tips on how to identify certain patterns in sight reading and improvisation with given chords. Have me as a teacher and I can guarantee you will be able to play ANYTHING on the piano!
