With piano, I focus on the foundations of chords, scales, arpeggios, and skills that you'll use to play the songs you love. We'll learn new styles of music and figure out how to choose the notes that sound best to your ears. We can learn to read notes better, or go off of chord charts from popular songs. All we'll need is a keyboard or piano to strengthen our sense of rhythm, train our hands, and learn how to really listen to music.

About Daniel A.

I'm a professional singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, and a rockstar at heart. Singing is the passion I was born with, and I have spent my whole life honing my skills to better understand and share this gift. I went to Gordon College on Boston's North Shore to train in Classical Alexander Vocal Technique, Choral Singing, Music Theory, and the Linklater Method for Stage. My biggest vocal inspirations are the likes of Freddie Mercury, Nina Simone, Justin Timberlake, Hozier, Rufus Wainwright, Sutton Foster, Adele, and Jeff Buckley.

I'm very passionate about opening up the singer's natural voice. I will work with your voice to bring out the natural strength and confidence of your specific voice range. We'll practice fundamental exercises tailored to your level and your personal physical needs. I teach all my students the basics of music theory to better empower their practice and understanding of the music they love. I help my students learn about their voice and gain knowledge of melody, harmony, diction, and resonance. Since singing is both a physical and mental art form, it's important to pair exercises with a clear explanation and advice from outside resources. We'll train together to explore styles of singing like R&B, Soul, Funk, Indie Rock, Alternative, Classical and Contemporary.

Most of all, we'll learn how to sing with sustainable technique that brings out the best of your voice, reduces straining and tension, and keeps your voice healthy.

I have performed in a Capella and choral ensembles around New England, played various parts in Musicals and Operettas, performed Classical recitals, played private gigs in the Boston area, and more. In my personal time I keep at work writing and recording folk-inspired contemporary songs.

Daniel is a wonderful beginner-intermediate piano instructor. His intuitive teaching style can be applied to any type of student, and his knowledge of music theory and musical genres is one of his greatest strengths. I would not have passed my piano proficiency courses in college without his help.
