Dana S. has been teaching private lessons since 2006. Dana is patient, compassionate and enthusiastic. She will work to develop your skills and inspire a passion for music. Dana has helped students audition for professional theatre, develop a love of music, learn to read music, increase their range, and develop a positive and confident self-image. Her day job is as the executive director of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra.
Dana S. holds a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from DePauw University and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Washington University in St. Louis. She was the administrator director of Union Avenue Opera in St. Louis and is currently the Executive Director of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra. She has proctored auditions in New York City and adjudicated for ISSMA.
As a performer, Dana has performed a wide spectrum of productions from professional opera, ballet, and concert performances to community theatre.
Dana structures lessons into three components: vocal exercises and warm-ups, sight-reading, and repertoire.
Dana has completed certification to become an ISSMA certified adjudicator, ensuring high quality assessments for educationally evaluated student music performances.
