Hi, Corey here. I've been teaching private music lessons since 1996, and I'm available for online lessons. I focus on helping students have fun and express themselves, understand the foundational aspects of playing their instrument, and develop the ability to be self-directed in their own music education. I began studying music at a young age, as my mother is a trained music educator. I attended Swarthmore College where I earned a degree in Psychology. And I've studied (and actively perform/teach) a wide variety of music styles. Most recently, served as the senior drum instructor at School of Rock Philadelphia, from 2012 to 2018. I welcome and affirm people of diverse identities and life experiences. As a lover of music and veteran performer/music educator, I consider it a special privilege to teach music. And I cherish helping both new and continuing students have fun and achieve their goals. My teaching style is very engaging and conversational. I use contextual examples from music and life in general to inform how students understand their relationship with their instrument. I strive for lessons that are fun, informative and effective!
