Learn the aesthetic and technical challenges of film scoring with a teacher with an MFA in film scoring.

Film scoring has been my ultimate passion since I was 9 years old. I have an MFA in film scoring from Columbia College Chicago. I am currently scoring a few films and teaching lessons on the side. I love teaching! I have many scenes to share with students for them to score. I would talk with students about the scene they're scoring, share tips and focus on style, technique, and emotional content of the scene. I have lots of technology experience, so I can help students learn how to actually turn the music in their heads into a physical recording. I specialize in Logic, ProTools ,and DigitalPerformer but can work with students in Garageband as well.

About Connor C.

I'm a film composer by trade, but I love teaching as well. I love sharing my passion for music with others. I have a BM from Appalachian State University in piano performance and music theory/composition. I also have an MFA in music composition for the screen from Columbia College Chicago. I studied abroad in Ireland for a summer and learned traditional Irish music. I've been playing piano and composing since I was a young child, and picked up folk instruments along the way. Folk music has been a constant source of joy in my life, and I am continually learning more about it. Music is what gets me out of bed in the morning!
