I've been writing, playing, and record music for over 20 years, and teaching since 2010.
Being a self taught student was hard! I was not a very patient beginner, I wanted to be good and good fast! But through my own trials I've found a way of learning and teaching music that is ultimately more exciting and rewarding than general music theory lessons. Focusing on the things that students most desire to express fuels the motivation that is so key to developing a talent.
My teaching approach focuses on learning quicker, through playing the music that excites students the most. No matter what genre you prefer, we begin from day 1 learning exactly what students want to play, starting with that genre's basics, and working up from there.
Besides teaching, I've written music for advertisements, toured with various bands, and run my own independant recording studio and record label. I developed, co-wrote, and hosted a comedy radio show on WNUR 89.3 from 2013 to 2014, and as a freelance writer, I continue to develop and contribute to various comedy, music, and entertainment podcasts.
