Cello with Christopher D.

I am a professional cellist currently residing in the Hartford area. I studied cello performance at The Boston Conservatory, The Hartt School of Music, and The University of New Hampshire. My private teachers include Ronald Feldman, Rhonda Rider, Terry King, Larry Veal, Neal Cary, and Jennifer Combs. I've played in masterclasses for Yo-Yo Ma, Joseph Silverstein, and The Shanghai String Quartet. I've performed extensively throughout the state of Connecticut in chamber groups, musical and opera pit orchestras, symphony orchestras, weddings, and other private events. I also do a lot of recording projects. I composed and recorded music for three independent films, as well as hundreds of my own personal compositions and arrangements. I've been teaching private lessons for 16 years. Most of my students are cellists, though I also teach guitar and piano. I have a very good student-teacher rapport with my students, and consequently a high retention rate. I always travel to my students' homes which is an invaluable convenience for both parents of students and adult students alike. Along with the cello, guitar, and piano I also teach music technology courses such as how to use Finale to compose music, and Ableton and Pro Tools to record and produce music. I'm well-versed in music theory and composition as well. I have a broad array of subjects I can teach, and I'm looking forward to passing my knowledge onto you!
