Hello beautiful students! Shining stars! Brilliance! My name is Christine, and I am so excited to be a part of this learning community of like-minded musicians. I have been steeped in piano playing (for enjoyment, as a student and learning myself, improvising, teaching clients, helping clients, etc.) since I was 4 years old as a young student myself. I remember going to lessons with my grandma and younger brother when I was little. I remember embellishing the love theme from Titanic, "My Heart Will Go On", and practicing it every day the moment I stepped off the bus from school. I find music as a means to comfort - to escape - to explore - to ease - to transform - to heal - to evoke - to move. Whatever purpose you find or would like the music in your life to serve, I would like to help you through your musical journey. I have been playing the flute since 4th grade. I consider flute to be my primary instrument. I can teach beginner to very advanced flute. I find the flute to be my voice throughout my life - advocating for me when words were not sufficient enough. I hope to help you reach mastery in flute, or enjoyment in flute, whichever you prefer. I have been in choir since 2014. I had a very difficult time growing up and finding my confidence and voice. I can help you succeed in regaining your confidence or run through challenging passages. I would consider my vocal experience to be medium. My most recent experience is guitar. I started playing in 2016. I am somewhat proficient and could teach very beginning/elementary guitar students. I have not completed but I am half-way finished within a graduate program through Augsburg University called the Masters of Music Therapy (MMT) Graduate Program. I have completed Music History courses, guitar courses, piano courses, the psychological science behind music, disabilities and music, end of life care and music, the healing properties of music, and many more. I have sung in multiple professional choirs, and volunteer choirs serving churches and actually correctional facilities. I have played flute for many professional church services, with more than several solos/featured flute in each service. With regards to piano and guitar, I have played for juries, but I also like to play the piano and guitar just for fun. Last year, I taught a music curriculum to 4th and 5th graders at 2 metro elementary schools (60 kids at each school). We had 2 splendid concerts! I hope to virtually meet you soon!
