About Chelley G.
I started the violin at the age of seven in Omaha, NE.
My family moved to Wichita, KS and I continued the violin and grew up through the Youth Symphony program and concertmastered for both the Repertory and Youth Symphony Orchestras. I was awarded a full string scholarship and attended Wichita State University where I received my Bachelor's in Music Performance. I was one of two hundred students, who were accepted internationally, to attend Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, NC. There, I concertmastered for the youth orchestra and received the incredible opportunity to play and participate in master classes for Pinchas Zucherman and Josef Gingold.
I have played backup violin for Rod Stewart, Mannheim Steamroller, Celtic Women, Sandi Patty, Wayne Newton, Johnny Mathis and many more. I have also played for a couple of film scores.
I play for the first violin sections in the Wichita Symphony and Oklahoma City philharmonic.
I am also the Violin Professor at Friends University in Wichita, KS.
