Started piano at 6, trombone at 9. Played in first jazz band in high school and college. Didn't continue in college due to the limited jazz opportunity at the time.
Played trombone in state honor band as high school junior, baritone as senior. Played both in 3rd Armored Division Band as my military occupational specialties - again including jazz band. Member of award-winning jazz band in California, studied in Florida as well. Upon returning to California self-taught trumpet, flugelhorn, and hand percussion which led to membership in traveling club bands, including leadership roles. Recorded 8 times.
