B.A of Music
About Charlotte N.
Hello! I am a professional working violinist in the Bay Area and recent graduate with a B.A. in Music from the University of California Berkeley. I have been playing violin since the age of 4, taught in the Suzuki method and furthering my studies at conservatory in New York City: Mannes, The New School For Music, studying classical violin before coming to California and studying jazz and blues under pianist Myra Melford.
I am knowledgeable in both classical techniques and jazz and improvisational techniques. I specialize in the Suzuki method.
My passion is playing the blues and freely improvising. I can teach that as well!
I have been a member of orchestra and chamber music ensembles my whole life so I know Classical repertoire very well. I am also schooled in Music Theory, Ear Training, and Music History. I am currently a member of the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra as well as the Berkeley Nu Jazz Collective, which specializes in jazz written after 1960.
