Hello! My name is Charlotte, and I am a San Diego vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where I honed my vocal jazz chops before branching out into the East Coast folk, blues and indie rock scene. I moved to Southern California in 2011, when I took a brief hiatus from performing to focus on commercial songwriting and composition and teaching voice, piano and guitar privately. I am currently once again performing in multiple groups in the San Diego area. My areas of expertise are contemporary styles and genres. I put a strong emphasis on developing healthy technique alongside strong musicianship skills in a fun environment! With over 10 years experience working with kids and teenagers, I am passionate about teaching all ages (adults, too!). With all instruments, the student will learn (please click on specific Subjects for more details on the way each instrument is taught): -Musicianship/ear training -Reading music & sight singing -Proper technique -Building repertoire -Performance techniques -Music Theory *** Specialties *** Jazz, rock, folk, pop, and musical theater. Songwriting (lyric and musical composition), learning to sing while playing an instrument.
