I have been called a drummer's drummer, meaning other drummers often come to see me play and enjoy my unique approach to the drum set. They often even come to take lessons with me to learn to be more creative.
While creativity and having my own voice on the drums has always been my strong suit, i am also a professionally trained drummer. I believe in having good technique - even if you don't know you're learning it at first. I believe in learning to play songs exactly as they were recorded before improvising.
You can only be as creative as your least developed skill.
I have been playing the drums since I was a wee lad and fell in love instantly. If you're at all interested in the drums, I know you will fall i love too - and if you think you're not able to learn, trust me, you are!

Chad is incredibly knowledgeable, not only about drums but about many aspects of a variety of musical styles, including music history. He is super patient with me, as well as my daughter. We both enjoy drum lessons, and look forward to our lessons every week.

This was my 7 year old grandson's first drum lesson. He eagerly anticipated Chad's arrival at our appointed time and from then on Chad held my grandson 's rapt attention with exercises they played together and solo. Chad's demeanor was respectful of the child's age and interest, offering him tasks in which he could feel successful and appropriately challenged. He left a young man eager to practice the techniques, more knowledgeable about drumming, having more fun doing so. His hands on manner, soft spoken style and sense of humor were all deal makers with my grandson; who is eager to resume lessons when he is back in town.

Experience
Drum Teacher
Aug, 2004 - PresentDrum Lessons with Chad
Learning to play the drums can be one of the most fulfilling things a person can do. I am grateful to say that I have been a conduit for my students to develop any level of skill at the drum set they put their minds to. I have worked with six-year-old beginners, to fifty-year-old advanced players, and no matter the skill level there is always something new to learn.
