Students can expect to learn basic information about their instrument (I teach both electric and acoustic), as well as how to quickly understand the mechanics of making quality sounds. Basic chord progressions will be presented to allow students to quickly get through many popular songs so they can get to having fun as soon as possible.

Related to academic tutoring, I have worked in the nuclear energy and research industry for 8 years as a design engineer and nuclear safety consultant. During college and early in my career I tutored with a few in-home and online agencies, focusing mostly on SAT preparation and various levels of mathematics. I enjoy helping facilitate understanding through practical examples; seeing a student really connect with a concept helps me feel like I can make a lasting impact on the world.

Related to guitar, I am a member of a touring hard rock band. I have played guitar in various projects (of many genres) since 1997. I enjoy helping beginner guitarists learn how to find themselves and their own style in their instrument.

Chad was my tutor for a science class a few years back. He was super knowledgable and helpful at explaining things in a way that I could better understand. Even my teacher saw improvement in not only my grades but my overall attitude in the class because I was now able to be a more successful student! Thanks Chad!

Last year I decided to go back to school and needed to take several math classes as part of the program I wanted to enroll in. I was never great with math in high school and was truly dreading Pre Calculus, so I reached out to Chad for help as soon as I enrolled. He was always patient and could explain things in several different ways if I was having a hard time understanding a concept. I got an A in the class and couldn't have done it without him. The following semester, Chad helped me earn an A in Calculus. Math is a lot less daunting when you have someone to explain things one-on-one. I'm looking forward to Calc II, now that I know I have someone on my team to help me succeed.
