Flute with Catherine M.

I am a professional flutist and teacher, and earned my Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance at the University of California, Santa Barbara. I have been teaching flute for five years, and consider it very important to foster a learning environment that is fun, engaging, and inspirational! As a musician, I am passionate about finding educational techniques that fit each and every student I work with, and have completed graduate coursework in psychology, with additional experience as a therapist for children on the Autism spectrum. My lessons engage the theory of Positive Psychology, which focuses on recognizing one's strengths and how to live out of them. I currently work as a collaborative artist, professional flutist, choral conductor, and cantor. I currently offer private lessons for all levels with a particular interest in beginners. My studio is located at the Foundation Music Center in Sorrento Valley. The RCM (Royal Conservatory Program) will be offered in 2020-2021. As a teacher with San Diego Coastal Flutes, members of my studio have the opportunity to perform with the San Diego Flute Orchestra, as well as numerous other recital opportunities. Rate: $60/hr, $35/half-an-hour
