As a private lesson teacher at JLB Music Studio, I teach violin, viola and piano lessons ranging from beginner to intermediate level. I currently have fifteen students per week for whom I teach, ranging in age from pre-k to high school.  Some of my students enjoy music as an extra-curricular activity and others are more serious students who participate in local orchestras and ensemble opportunities.

For a semester, I taught an after-school intro-level violin class at a local elementary school. The class was offered to 4th and 5th graders for one semester and they made great progress in the 4 months of class, even giving a recital at the end it.

Violin is one the most beautiful instruments to learn and that is part of what makes it so much fun to teach! I love sharing the gift of music with my students and seeing them gain knowledge and become more well-rounded individuals. I believe anyone of any age can benefit from being involved in music lessons.

My name is Catherine and I am a violin and viola teacher. I believe in a fun, hands-on approach. If my student is excited about music, I am doing my job! As someone who has been playing stringed instruments for 15 years, seeing fresh faces learn the  instruments I have grown up loving, makes me very happy. I majored in music in college and though I have been teaching part-time for 8 years, I began teaching as a full time job this past summer. It is truly my passion and I feel so honored to get to share it with others.
