Hello there! My name is Cameron Rivero and I'm a professional saxophonist, producer composer and educator from England and Spain who studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Saxophone playing has been a part of my life from as early as remember. My father was a jazz saxophonist and this inadvertently led me towards a similar path. I have been playing professionally since the age of 18 and play gigs every week in the Tri State area. I have studied with some of the best saxophone teachers on the planet at Berklee College of Music, and am constantly drawing on information they passed along to me when expressing my style of teaching. I think people automatically assume that if you play saxophone you must play jazz, but I feel that there are so many stylistic opportunities with this flexible instrument. i've managed to play on gigs of all genres with what I know and the approach I take to playing. In my lessons I like to not only focus on fundamentals and how they can be applied to different playing situations. From the beginner to the Advanced player, I really try to focus on sound quality and production, finger technique, time, articulation, theory and building a repertoire. These are the main fundamentals of playing the saxophone and are often the main distinctions between a good and a great player. I am always open to focusing on whatever it is YOU want to improve on, whether it be a specific aspect of your playing, or even learning that song you've always wanted to play! Teaching is some of the most gratifying work I've done and I would LOVE to help you improve your playing!
