Originally from Maryland, Calen J. is a Douglasville, Georgia resident with a burning passion for music. His involvement with the performing arts dates back to 1994 where he took up the alto saxophone as his primary instrument, and 1996 when piano became his secondary; since then he has dealt heavily with band performance, where most of his expertise lies. EXPERIENCE -4 of years of marching and concert band at Morehouse College -3 years as a student arranger for the marching band -1 year as a vocal/general music teacher in Maryland and Georgia -1 year as a member of the King's Men Choir of Ebenezer AME Church -10+ years of on-stage performance experience Mr. J. focuses on building students' understanding and performance of their respective instruments from the ground up, with emphasis on mastering the basics.
