My wife and I have recently relocated to Pittsburgh from the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area. I am a bass major who recently retired from a successful 20 year career teaching orchestra in Prince William County, Virginia. I hold a bachelor degree in music education from Shenandoah University and a masters in conducting from George Mason University. Prior to teaching in the public schools, I taught private lessons for many years in both music stores and my home studio. I also served for 10 years in the executive board of the Virginia Band & Orchestra Directors' Association and the Virginia Music Educators' Association as the Orchestra Representative and maintain a position on the Executive Board as the Orchestra Representative Emeritus. I have extensive experience teaching all the orchestral string instruments but my main instrument is the electric bass. I have been a freelance musician for most of my life and performed all styles of music but my favorites are musical theater and jazz and blues.
