I have been studying the voice and healthy vocal methods for over a decade. Previously, I was a Certified Speech Level Singing (SLS) Instructor under Maestro Seth Riggs, and am now currently a Certified Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA) Instructor. I am very passionate about singing and teaching, and have so much fun doing so. As a voice instructor I require of myself to constantly excel and commit to a number of educational hours and events each year. This process encourages me to be a teacher who is constantly growing and bettering myself for my students. I am passionate about continuously advancing my education by observing Master Teacher's from around the world instruct both vocal pedagogy and performance development courses.  My devotion is to help each student find confidence, strength, and agility in their own unique voice. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to communicate and connect with people. I am quick to help my students feel at ease and build their confidence – while also diagnosing the voice and helping the student grow and improve.

While being fun-loving and easy-going I also take great pride in helping my students to succeed in every capacity possible. I have studied with the acclaimed Jeffrey Skouson as both a vocal student and as a teacher. Other Master Teacher's I have at one point studied with, or under, are: Maestro Seth Riggs, Greg Enriquez, Spencer Welch, Linda Tomkinson, Kathy Kennedy, John Henny, Dave Stroud, Guy Babusek, Stephanie Borm, and more.  I am immensely passionate about teaching and furthering my education and experience, and am completely devoted to continuously educate myself to be a first-class teacher for my students. Come on in and enjoy the fun of singing! *** Lesson Details *** While studying voice may have its challenges and frustrations, it still can be (& should be!) enjoyable and inspiring! In our lessons you will spend the first half vocalizing and warming up the voice, and then the second half working on repertoire. I will record your vocalices (on a CD or other device) for you to practice with for the week. I am not a genre teacher, but a technique teacher. With whatever genre you wish to sing you can apply the technique. I will work with you on your song to change vowels and notes where needed, and also help you to connect to the story of the song. I try to make the environment I teach in stress-free and enjoyable. Before coming to a first lesson a student may feel intimidated or nervous, but please keep in mind that I am not here to judge or tear-down a student... Instead I am here to take them where they are at and help them to improve and grow. I will also never ask you to do something that will harm your voice – your vocal health is my main priority. I stand behind my education and personal experiences, and will only deliver my personal best to you. As stress-free as my lessons are, there are still a few expectations. I ask my students to do their own part and practice their vocalices throughout the week. The vocalices are designed to help your voice strengthen and increase in range and skill, therefore by practicing during the week you are helping your voice to continue to grow. Come willing to learn, have fun, and make some silly noises in the meantime – you will be making some funny sounds, but they are designed to strengthen the vocal cords agility and adduction. In a nutshell, come prepared to sing! What good is a voice lesson without some singing?! Am I right?! :). Also come prepared knowing you will make mistakes – mistakes are an important part of learning, and the sooner we stop expecting perfection is actually when we start to learn & grow the best. I do not expect perfection, just growth! And most of all, come prepared to have fun and to learn! *** Studio Equipment *** In my studio I have a piano to play scales, computer to record lessons and play songs, a sound system for music, a microphone & stage for performances/showcases (which are done at least twice a year), and a waiting area. My current studio location is at a Theatre Company located in Henderson near 215 & Gibson. Parents are welcome to sit in the lobby or relax in their car as their child has their voice lesson. *** Specialties *** I studied the Speech Level Singing (SLS) method for over 8 years, and was a certified teacher in the method for over 2 years. I am currently now a certified teacher with the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA). I have requirements within my certifications to test yearly with a Master Teacher to ensure I am teaching healthy & proper technique. I specialize in technique and, regarding genres, I focus mostly on Broadway or Pop. However, through the technique I teach, I can help any genre of singer improve their vocal abilities.

She coached me in my audition for a professional Las Vegas show. I don't normally consider myself a strong singer, but she was easy to work with. Also I got the part and was with the show for one year.

Britni has a way to help a nervous but aspiring singer feel relaxed. She is a gentle leader. Another thing I appreciate about her is her continuous education. I know my teacher is always trying to be the best version of herself, & if she doesn't have an answer she goes looking for it. She comes highly recommended!

    Experience

    Singing Teacher/Glee Teacher

    Jan, 2012 - Aug, 2013

    Hollywood Kids Academy

While working at Hollywood Kids Academy (HKA) I taught multiple Glee/Vocal performance group classes as well as private voice lessons. Each "semester" I worked on a handful of group numbers & solo numbers with the students and at the end of the semester we would put on a big show for friends & family to enjoy, but more importantly, for the singer's to showcase their talents & hard work. I loved working here & helping singer's of all ages to develop confidence in their vocal abilities as well as getting them out on stage as much as possible!
