My name is Berthe ( pronounced Bert). At the age of 4, I began taking

*** Lesson Details ***
Our musical journey has a smooth and relaxed progression, establishing enough command of the keyboard to allow each student to develop naturally. To make the piano a richer and more rewarding experience, I enjoy introducing a variety of musical styles, from popular favorites to timeless classical pieces, according to the student’s musical tastes.
I believe in a dynamic and responsive method of teaching. I see the student as an active participant in their own learning. Our lesson feels pleasant and joyful, so the student will always delight in playing the piano and creating music. Based on the student’s age and demands, I employ several methods of teaching that lead to the development of observation, concentration, creativity, self-confidence, and personal expression. I encourage and support my students regardless of specific talent, as we move toward an effective and beneficial musical experience.

Dr. H. is a wonderful and patient Piano Instructor. She is very precise and works on technique very well. She wants her students to succeed. She always ends the lesson on a good note so that you feel accomplished with what you have done. I would recommend her and her lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. She will help you progress as a musician and pianist. I enjoy her lessons very much.
Ms. Berthe has been our teacher for more than 4 years now. Our children look forward to each class & have a special bond with her, as do I. She is a loving, encouraging teacher, who has provided our children with the knowledge they need to play piano, read music & even love practicing each day!
She is attentive, listens to what the student needs; the instructor is outstanding because unlike other instructors I've taken from, she gives me what I want to play and I learn basics which are essential. Other instructors have a set way about teaching and does not take the student in mind. I LOVE this instructor! Thanks for asking....
Berthe is a wonderful compassionate teacher who keeps Connor's attention and focus. Her attention to detail specific to Theory is highly regarded and we've seen huge growth in Connor over the 4 years of lessons. We look forward to continuing with Berthe into Connor's adulthood.
Berthe is a very knowledgeable and patient teacher. Her passion for music is contagious!
She is very flexible with my flaws and understanding of my limitations. So much progress was made under her tutelage! I am so proud of what she has helped me to achieve, and I hope to continue as her student forever.
This instructor has shown me great patience as I am an older beginner. I often struggle with coordinating my hands, brain, and sight reading to cooperate with each other, yet she has not given up on me. There was a time when I wanted to quit but Professor Honein encouraged me to press on, changed the book we were working out of, and that made all of the difference in my education. Her loyalty to the standard of excellence and to the success of her students is priceless. I am honored to be her pupil.
My child has taken lessons with Berthe for about four years now. It's clear that she's an expert in teaching music. She's serious about what she does, she's patient, she has a great sense of humor, and she understands how children learn. She gives meaningful advice and praise. Learning a new song is as much about music theory and dynamics as it is about learning the notes. My daughter enjoys her lessons, and she and Berthe have conversations about music concepts that are way over my head.
