I started playing horn at age 11 in Dunbar, Wisconsin and continued to play and take lessons on through middle and high school, participating in several competitions, and and went on to study at the college level and graduated with my bachelor's degree in French horn performance from Bob Jones University in 2011 and I've played with community and semi-professional groups since then.
I specializes in teaching the fundamentals of playing the horn correctly to make the best tone possible. The main goal of this approach to teaching is to get my students to enjoy hearing themselves play which in turn will encourage the student to continue practicing because it will be enjoyable!
Philosophy of teaching music: The goal of teaching music should be simply to improve the person to whom music is being taught, whether the goal of the student is to make a career in music, or simply to help the student reach his potential.
The reason anyone would want to play horn is the horn is because it provides more of a challenge to master than any other brass instrument. It also provides you with the opportunity to play in a band, which gives you a sense of teamwork and accomplishment when rehearsing and performing concerts.
