After living in Southern California, I am now living in Spring Hill, Tennessee, which is outside of Nashville. I am so happy to be in Nashville, and looking forward to finding students in this part of the country. So please read forward and learn about my teaching abilities. Musician and instructor with more than 40+ years experience performing and helping others to fulfill their musical aspirations. Able to perform and teach in a variety of formats over multiple genres.
Started playing accordion at age 7. Massachusetts State Champion at age 10, 11 and 12.
Attended Holyoke Community College, majoring in Music Education.
25+ years experience performing solo and in various bands throughout the East coast.

*** Lesson Details ***
Individual lesson plans are created based on the students musical acumen. I will start by teaching the fundamentals with a strong emphasis on the Circle of Fiths; the foundation for understanding and predicting musical progressions. The music that we work on will be chosen by the student. With my program, gone are the days of practicing for hours and hours on a piece of music that you are not passionate about.

in 3 to 6 months, my students will understand the Circle of Fifths, major and minor scales and how to apply this knowledge, so that the music they want to hear and play, is literally at their finger tips.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Yamaha CP300, Roland XP80, Korg M50

*** Travel Equipment ***
Have keyboards, will travel.

Strummin Across America
A photographic musical voyage . One of my New Age originals that I've written. All instruments performed by me using all the wonderful tools out there for todays musician. Let me show you how its done, so you can begin the great journey that music has to offer.
This is a video I did for a local cable access show back in Massachusetts. It is 22 minutes long and I hope gives people a little insight into learning how I teach. It was the 3rd of 4 lessons that I did, so it is a bit of a review, doesnt start from the beginning, but hopefully will get you intrigued enough to start playing. I believe that once you get a strong foundation of theory, the whole music world opens up for you as it has for me over the past 50+ years. Can't imagine not having music be a part of my life, and I look forward to paying it forward my music to you.
Another photo, musical journey from back east in Maine. Hope you enjoy
One of my favorite new songs from my new album "Ben Franklin 2013".

I've never taken lessons before so I have nothing to compare it to, but Ben has exceeded all my expectations. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled, friendly and focused. I knew absolutely nothing about piano except that I have wanted to play all my life. I have had 3 lessons and, though I can't play Chopin, I am amazed at what I have learned. I am very pleased and would highly recommend lessons with Ben.
