Please review my web page if you have not already to see my professional performance background and teaching experience. I teach brass studies, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and special Jazz improvisation studies.
As a young valve trombonist, Barry was invited by CHET BAKER to perform with him several times in the mid 1980's, and Chet's melodic style left a strong impression on his playing. He also has been inspired by the great valve trombonist Bob Brookmeyer, the early works of Miles Davis and the legendary Louis Armstrong.
Leading his own Jazz trio and sometimes quartet, he has performed at the best Jazz clubs in Los Angeles including Spazio's, The Hip Kitty, Jax Bar & Grill, Vitello's, The Left Coast Wine Bar, Cafe 322, Red White and Bluezz, the Squashed Grapes in Ventura, Coles Downtown LA, and more. The trio has also performed for many up scale private parties and events in Los Angeles including the HOLLYWOOD ANNIE AWARDS at Royce Hall.
Currently both Barry's CD's " Jazz Time " and " Speak Softly " have received repeated radio air play in the USA and Europe, and he has had thousands of youtube plays from his Los Angeles performances. Barry M. is currently with the NEW FOUND RECORDS record label . His focus is on tasteful melodic playing.
