I am a professional bassist located in the Twin Cities area. I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied bass and music production. I have 13 years of experience as a bassist playing a wide variety of contemporary styles, and have been teaching for the past 4. I am comfortable teaching students at any level, beginner to advanced. Beginner students can expect a broader lesson structure as we build a solid foundation of understanding from good technique and practice habits to the basics of caring for your instrument. Your understanding of music theory will expand along with your improvisational ability, and you will gain skills that are applicable to all contemporary styles of music. You'll be playing your favorite tunes in the first few weeks! Intermediate to more advanced students can expect a more focused lesson structure, as we hone in on specific areas in which you wish to improve. We will refine your technique and explore the possibilities of timbre, train your ear to be able to deconstruct and learn songs in real-time, and deepen your understanding of music theory. Whether you are looking to take up a new hobby, supplement your current education, or become a better band-mate, I look forward to helping you develop your musical abilities in the most meaningful way for you!
