Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Take classical guitar lessons with a seasoned, prize-winning classical guitarist ! I am an active performer throughout the country as a soloist and member of the Pacific Guitar Ensemble, alongside David Tanenbaum, Peppino D'Agostino, Marc Teicholz and Larry Ferrara. I graduated from the SF Conservatory of Music and hold Bachelor's, Master's, and Professional Studies' diplomas.

I welcome students at any age or skill level ! I focus on classical guitar playing, but can also provide lessons in other styles.

I am very passionate about music and take joy in teaching this art to kids and adults ! I focus on proper technique as well as musicality, and understanding different musical styles and music theory. I am patient, but will also challenge my student to progress naturally. I have been teaching classical guitar for seven years and take great enthusiasm in it. I focus on proper technique which will allow the guitarist to play relaxed and with ease, musicality which is such an essential part of classical guitar music, as well as having a beautiful sound. I will provide exercises to strengthen and progress the students technique as well as fun solo pieces from the guitar repertoire. Duets will also be incorporated which will help the student learning ensemble playing as well.

Looking forward to meeting new students!

Tony was awesome. This was my first ever lesson, despite having "played" for many years - Tony was friendly and gentle in his approach to showing me all my bad technique and habits and how to correct them. I'm looking forward to many more lessons and growing my ability through his guidance!

Tony is an excellent instructor. His style of teaching emphasizes clear instruction, valuable feedback and attainable goals within a friendly and calm environment. The pieces he chooses for study are appropriately challenging and musically enjoyable. The in-home lessons were very convenient and he was professional in all respects. I recommend him highly!

I've had two guitar instructors prior to working with Tony. He is by far the best. Not only is he passionate about music and classical guitar, I find him to be a patient instructor who listens and understands his students needs. He has an in-depth knowledge of music theory, a willingness to use various approaches based on student needs, and a talent for playing the guitar at a level which continually inspires you keep learning.
